4x10 minute tempo intervals with 2:00 rest was on the schedule today. Goal pace was 4:47-5:00 for these, which shouldn't have been a problem to hit. Warming up I didn't feel super great, just low energy and my left glute was still feeling tight and sore. Figured I would just aim to be around 5:00 for the hard efforts and I should be okay. Got out in 5:02 for the first one and while it didn't feel like I was working too hard, I just didn't have any more gears to go faster. Turned back into the wind at the start of the second mile and felt myself start slowing down. So just ended it there.

Not too upset about this one though, I think with how well Saturday's long progression went it just took a lot more out of me than I thought. I also need to make sure I'm getting at least two lifts per week in, I think only doing that once per week for the last couple might be contributing to my super tight and sore glute. Just gonna run easy the rest of the week and hopefully get a good MP run in on Saturday. I'm happy with where I'm at right now, I think I am fit enough right now to run 2:18 at CIM so I just need to be smart these last couple weeks and get to the start line healthy
