Notes

Bix 7, 23rd overall, 36:07 official time, 38 second PR

5:17, 4:56, 5:13, 5:11, 5:16, 5:20, 4:44

Another really solid race for me at the Bix. Going in I didn't really have any goals in mind, but I thought I could get under 36:00 if I had a great day. Kept it chill up Brady St hill, then let it roll a bit the second mile but still got passed by a decent amount of dudes. Ran a 4:56 second mile but my legs were feeling pretty flat coming down the long decline and wasnt sure what to expect later on in the race, was a little concerned at that point.

When we hit the big hills near the turnaround I made a point to take them very chill. I went through half in 17:57 and thought I might still be able to run sub 36 with a strong second half. I got passed by a ton of dudes over the hills just before and after the turnaround. As soon as we started going back up the long climb up Kirkwood I blew past all of them and hammered them all over the second half. Its always fun when you're able to run smart and make people who were flying by you on hills a few minutes prior look dumb.

Was able to keep my pace up pretty well from 4-6, but I slowed down a little more than I would have liked in the 6th mile. Let it fly the last mile as always back down Brady St and was duking it out with the 2nd and 3rd place women. Ended up beating both of them and finishing 4 seconds behind the women's winner.... realized later that she's the women's world record holder for the road 10k and half marathon soooo I'm cool with getting chicked by her lol.

Another successful Bix 7, it was pretty warm and humid and I think with better running weather I could have gotten that sub 36, but can't complain with my 5th straight Bix PR. This was my first week back to real training, so I am in a really good spot right now before getting even more fit for fall racing and Chicago + CIM
