Notes

Pretty solid run this afternoon. Since I didn't finish my other run till 12:30 this morning I waited a bit till it was mid-day to get myself out the door. Drove to NCC and decided to get some solid hill work in since it has been awhile. Actually felt good from the start which has been a rare occurrence as of late, so I was already hitting 6 flat/sub 6 by mile 3. Set up the GPS so I'd be able to see what I was doing through the workout, but then it just decided to stop working right before mile 10 so that really sucked. Fortunately the timer still kept going so I figured I'd just map the route when I got home so for the last few miles I didn't really know what I was hitting but I knew it was sub 6. Didn't tempo or fartlek before the hills but just kept it steady and wanted to just focus on form and staying fluid. First mile on the hill was 6:02 and then the rest were 5:50 low so pretty solid. Ended up doing 8 hills and then ran back to school. Only got stopped twice and both times combined probably don't even last longer than a minute so overall I had a very nice steady run! Wind sucked on certain parts of the hill and the fartlek as is per typical 4 Lakes fashion but I'll take this. Solid week of training and excited to see what happens with racing these next few weeks!

Also, took the E-Gel Cherry Bomb flavor and holy shit that stuff is powerful. Was surprised that it temporarily upset my stomach but it does have a nice pop to it. Trying the Mountain Rush one soon and hopefully that one goes a bit better, but if not I'll be taking GU's for Boston
