Notes

Very strange run today, weather was 64 degrees but humid when I got out the door. Legs felt kinda heavy and blocky which sucked and for other reasons I couldn't get myself to just relax and enjoy the run. Was probably around 6:50-7 flat for the first mile and then right around then just as I was slightly able to relax into the run a red winged black bird attacked my head. Those little fuckers hurt, and I instantly got pissed and proceeded to be uptight/angry for the next 2-3 miles just cussing out the bird and shit. Had some hills during these miles so I think the hills helped open my legs up a bit at the very least. Turned right onto Ranchview and decided to take that to the DQ and then turned left heading towards St. Elizabeth Seaton. Legs felt good at this point but then the poop feels became real so I turned into Bolingbrook heading towards Whalon so I could use the bathroom. Saw Emile out there which surprised me and the only words he said to me were "I'm cashed" and he was less than 2 blocks from his house lol. Still, glad to see he was getting some mileage in and toughing it out. Finally got to Whalon and decided to go to the dog park instead since it was a closer bathroom. Got there right as a group of 15 little kids riding bikes so I had to wait for 5 minutes. Normally, that's not a big deal but it hurt so bad that I also crapped myself in front of all these little kids and parents. Finally, got done and then right as I got back on the path so did the little kids and they proceeded to race me for the next mile on the path. Out of the 15 kids and 3 counselors, I got 5th #rollingwithoutwheels. They ended up stopping after that because another group of bikers was on the path so I was able to sneak through and continue on my own. It started raining at this point and I was ready to just be done at this point so I skipped going to Knock Knolls and just headed home, continuing to pick up the pace along the way. Mentally tired and physically sluggish today but I'm glad I was able to get this in and happy with the pace, wasn't trying to cruise but it just ended up being the way it had to be today.

Emile's a hard card to read, I didn't think he was very intrinsically motivated but I'm glad to see he is. Also, nice job beating Shilgalis last week, welcome to the old man strength club
