Notes
Whitewater 5k with Tim. We ended up getting out at an average pace, nothing special. Alot of jockeying at the beginning but I settled in instantly with the pack and just focused on zoning out. Calf hurt for the first couple laps and then the pain stopped which was great. We went out in 4:46 and then I don't remember hearing any splits after that. Alot of the guys kept surging to try and make moves but they were so quick and small that it didn't really change anything. As in every race we run, Keith and I were together for the whole race. I would try to catch the leaders and then he would pass me and we kept doing this pretty much the entire race. We had a couple Lacrosse guys with us too but with 800 to go it was just us following Daniel Povinsky and a guy from Eau-Claire whose pretty fast. With 200 to go Keith and I caught Dan and then we proceeded to drop the hammer. Ended up kicking it in for 2nd with Keith .1 right behind me. Obviously, the time isn't anything stellar and I was pretty much in my comfort zone for most of the race, but now that my calf is really starting to heal up I can focus on full training again. Solid opener to start the season but I know I can do better!
