Notes

We took both the men and women teams to Blackwell today. Did an easy 5k warmup loop to the hill and then immediately went into 4 hills, followed by a 15 minute upbeat progression. The warmup was pretty chill, I think we ranged between 6:45-7 flat but I honestly felt pretty shitty. The hills ended up going very well though which was a great surprise, I averaged around 7 flat pace for the hills and had Taves and Cooley with me for the first two. They were going up the hill just as fast as me, but that NCC recovery habit down the hill is what caused the separation. As for the progression tempo, I let the boys build into it and despite feeling shitty we weren't going fast at all. Took over after a mile and brought the pace down considerably and got moving. Averaged about 5:50 overall though so it was a good cleanout from the hills, nothing crazy. Finished up the loop with the guys and then called it for the day. Upper body and core is super sore from yesterday lol I hope to get into a good pattern with it and get stronger. Overall, fun time at Blackwell and glad to see that I still can maintain good for on the hills.
