So the first part of this run was awfulllllllllll. I went around the lakes and they were just sooooooooo muddy and wet that my feet were sloshing everywhere and my stride length was incredibly varied because I was trying to avoid the moisture as much as possible. So instead of dealing with that again, I ditched the lakes and took off around campus. At that point I was just miserable. I really wanted to cut the run short honestly. But then about half a mile after I left the lakes, things turned around! My legs loosened up and I started to feel substantially better. It felt a lot like normal and that made me happy which made me feel even better! It was right as my phone said 3 miles that this happened, so that's why my paces dropped for those last three miles which is awesome! And its so gratifying because I turned off the time and pace cues since I have so much trouble being disciplined with how fast I'm running, so this entire run was based on feel. By the sixth mile I could feel I was running a little faster, but I didn't feel like I was pushing the pace too hard and I had no idea it would be that fast! So basically the run started out awful but then turned out awesome! And the other thing is the weather was wonderful at a warm 50 degrees, and I didn't even mind that it started raining with about 2 miles to go since I was feeling so great! I <3 Long Runs :)
