Solid 3k, was shooting for very low 9's, came through 1k ~3:00, and felt pretty good, but after the mile, I started falling off. I was hoping that the group in front of me would stay there for a few more laps or that Shane could help me out a bit, but by 1k they were already pulling away for their sub 9 pace, Shane was feeling the mile double, and I got left on an island. Coach liked how I responded the last 500m though, he thought that was a good sign.
I was drinking water and powerade all day, and even then my mouth was bone dry by 250m into the race,
