Notes

light drizzle throughout, it was actually really good weather to run a 5k, low wind, no sun. As the second race of a double I'd never tried before, I had no clue what to expect. The first 200m was a 40, and I was running towards the back of the pack with Josh Brodin, Then i just stuck on him for 1200m, everything was 81's locked in. Then we traded leads for a bit, It actually helped with him leading, not so much for breaking the wind, but keeping me in the groove, especially while passing people. Through the first mile and a half, I was wondering when I was going to run out of gas, every other 5k I've run dropped off in the third mile. But 2 miles came and went, and I was still grooving, especially since I had strong support on both sides of the track (thanks Gabe, Sully, Duffty et al). Then I think I remember Gabe saying that the 11th lap was a 75? Then from there, I just kept trying to reel in Dan Ritchie, and Shane, and finished in 4th, 3 seconds back of Shane, under 16:40 for the first time.
