Good race. My goal was to hit 18:00, but I'm happy with 18:25 as it's an almost 3 minute improvement over my last race (21:15 in the Eugene trail run). I know I could have run faster and had an overall better race, but I don't remember how to pace correctly yet. The first two miles were pretty good... I think I was right on pace to hit 18, but the last mile was brutal. I slowed down to 6:10 pace or so, and the right side of my lungs/chest got achy. I can't tell if it's just that I'm not in race shape, or the asthma thing is coming back. At any rate, it was a good race, but I will probably need more speedwork if I ever want to be good at the 5k again.
