Notes
Plan today was to run a 20 miler and since I needed to get it done early, I started at Panera at 5:10. Ran down Stewart, W. Blvd., Sunset, Stadium, Carrie Francke, Providence, and back to 9th St for 6.1 miles. Finished just about a minute before 6 am. Roads were wet and one place I slipped but not too bad as long as I stayed off side walks.
Dan, Phil, Sam, Kurt, and Chris showed up to run the 14 miles. Dan had already run 4+. We started at 6:07 after Phil arrived so I had a few minutes break and I was antsy (almost impatient) to get going again for some reason. The roads had become quite slippery so we had to be extremely careful which slowed down the pace a bit. We all ran close together with Chris not far behind us as we crossed Scott Blvd. We had to be careful where to run. Sometimes middle of road, sidewalk or grass - wherever we could get the best traction. Once we got on the trail we were able to pick up speed. We all made it back without falling. Chris came in a few minutes behind us. He had made a right turn on Chapel Hill, eventually found his way back to Scott Blvd and came back on Broadway. Considering the bad conditions, we all had a good run and was good to have someone to "suffer" with on this run. Actually, the run was pretty good. I am amazed how fast we ran on the ice.
