Notes

This run was very much a pain in the butt (right cheek to be precise). This is the first run where the sciatic nerve was hurting quite a bit with pains shooting down to just above the knee today rather than all the way down to the calf. The faster I ran, the less it hurt, but had a problem going any faster since it also was quite tight. I am hopeful the 50K will not be a problem though. Esteban will help on Thursday and I will take off Fri. and Sat. Then I will just make sure I am thoroughly loosened up on Sun. morning. I noticed it hurt worse going down hills which shouldn't be much of a problem since Sun. will be a flat course. Walking and sitting, it doesn't seem to be any worse. Harder and firmer chairs are the best for sitting and getting up. Soft is bad when getting up and taking those first few steps. Once I start walking around I am fine. One good thing out of all of this is that I now have a higher tolerance for pain. Hopefully, this will help when I am running and pushing those last few miles in a race.

I started out slow on this run and then passed quite a few people. Mike T. caught up to me and I ran the last mile with him. Since part of it was downhill, it was slower rather than faster.
