Notes

Only 7 people running the half marathon and others doing the 10K. Most of the people participating rode one of the bike events. It was already near 80 when we started at 10:30. It was tough to keep my usual half marathon pace due to the heat and I stopped at aid stations to drink. There were just the right amount of stations and they served Gatorade and water. The course went out from Rocheport to Huntsdale and back to Rocheport so we were running along the Missouri River and next to the bluffs. Almost had to stop for some guineas crossing at the animal farm. Also, had to go around a big snapping turtle in the trail at some point. Although it was hot I finished the last mile in 6:32 which was the same as the first mile. Other miles were 6:27 - 7:23 and overall a 6:55 pace. The race was chip timed by Pat Hanson of Ready, Set, Results. The smallest race I've run that was chip timed.

It was strongly encouraged that each participant raise at least $100 and I ended up with $231.10. Thanks again to everyone that donated.
