Actually recorded mile splits to see how messed up they would be on a hilly, winding course like this:
1. 6:25
2. 6:32

11. 5:53 -- this may have been legit, slightly downhill and I was rolling, passed 2 guys in this mile
12. 6:57 -- this mile was long, not even a hill in this mile
13. 5:34 -- which would make this mile short
14. 6:13
15. 6:16
16. 3:20 -- last half mile with a nasty hill, but a great view of the lead woman, whom I never caught.
Definitely a solid effort for me. I wasn't sure what to expect, kinda thought I'd be in the 1:40 range and was well under that. Didn't kill myself either. Onward.
