Slow jog, definitely more humid than was forecast.
I experienced an awkward moment at the traffic light by P&S. As I was coming to the end of Grove there was a guy approaching the same intersection from Lowell--he got to the corer about 10 seconds before I did and started jogging in place. I arrived at the intersection, stopped my watch and stopped running...like a normal person. I stood there watching the light and the traffic and looking for a window to cross the street, all the while acting like this wasn't my first run (for crissakes) hoping he would just stop the jogging. For a couple of seconds there was a window of opportunity for him to stop but once that passed, he was sort of committed. I couldn't bear to even look at him because if I had, my expression would have said, "Stop it, you dork, you are embarrassing both of us." This was not some subtle little jog in place like he'd been in the middle of a tempo run and needed to keep his body moving to keep from tightening up--no--this was a very exaggerated and frolicky jazzercise type of jog in place. Finally, mercifully, the light changed and I took off. We were headed in the same direction but even though I was barely jogging along at an 8 minute pace, he dropped off immediately and I never even saw or heard him--I think we were both just looking to put the whole episode behind us.
