Ran the Lynnfield then down Pearl to Forest over to the track, about the 10.3 mile mark I guess. Walked onto the track and ran a mile just about all out (5:25). Horrified some joggers. Sucked wind for a minute then ran home at an easy pace.
Pretty happy with that--legs felt tired and heavy after 10 miles on a somewhat humid day and I definitely did not expect it to be that fast. The first 400 at 81 felt way too fast but I just held on to that pace as long as I could...which turned out to be about three more laps plus nine meters.
A 13-miler including a mile time trial at just past the 10 mile mark is probably at least as much a workout for my ego as anything, but sometimes statements need to be made.
