Notes

Wouldn't have run it but it was already paid for by the club ... figured it was cheaper to just drive down and do a tempo run then pay them back my entry fee.

Plan was go out around 6 pace and see how that feels. Well, it's a grand prix race so that really didn't pan out. 5:40 at the mile, which didn't feel that bad but was way too hot.

After the 2nd mile I tried to really concentrate on keeping my back straight not arching, pelvis neutral, and running as fast as I could without feeling *any* pain or discomfort in my hamstring. It turns out that pace was around marathon pace for miles 3, 4 and 5. Ran with mostly competitive masters' women for those miles. Which in a way does not suck.

Probably will wind up with some of the best finish photos of my running career since I was just focused on good form and running tall with my legs under me and not really even working all that hard. As slow as the result is, I can tell I'm really not that far away, fitness wise. I just need to keep strengthening the chassis before I really open up the engine.

After walking back to the cars, was able to jog right away with no pain or stiffness at all. Trust the process.

**Some pain and stiffness after the hour-long drive home.
