Notes
Ran over to the high school and did 12 x high school hill loops plus one more time up to the very top to bag a Strava segment from some poor bastard who only owned for 2 days and never saw me coming, not that there's anything he could have done about it. This was such a good run. Dan was right, it feels a lot like doing 12 quarters. Quarter up, quarter down, repeat.
On the way home, I did a little detour down vine and over the mineral street bridge to summer, half because I just didn't want the run to end. It started raining/sleeting a bit for the short run down summer. Tomorrow it will be snowing but tonight I was running in shorts and feeling like a goddam runner for the first time in a while. Not a broken runner, or a burned out runner, or a used-to-be-kinda-fast runner ... just a runner.
As I approached the bottom of my hill I spread my arms palms up, looked up into the night sky and soaked it all in. I thanked the universe for nights like this ... and other nights. It's been a good week.
