Southern XC Championships, Parliament Hill. 8k
Mild weather after some rain during the week. Thankfully nowhere near as cold as it has been. Wore spikes for the first time in about 4 years (12mm). Some quite deep mud on the course so was glad I had spikes! The hills were a killer - was barely moving on some of the uphills. I got a stitch at about 3 & half miles which put a bit of a spanner in the works but that went off towards the end. I pulled a muscle in the top of my left calf just turning into the final big downhill - I felt it ping. Even so I managed to catch a couple of women on the downhill & stay ahead of them to the finish. Overall I was pleased. I came in the top half which is great! 226th out of 500.
Great to take part & nice as there no pressure.
