Have to do a decent amount of backlogging here. Haven't updated all week. Took yesterday off (first day off in over a month) because Jane and I were down at UofChicago for some doctors appointments all day. It was loooong and tiring day. Plus I drank pretty much no water. Felt pretty drained by the time I got home.

This run was in the middle of the afternoon on Thursday. I wanted to do at least an hour but I told myself I'd decide at 30min in whether or not I was going to do a full two. At the 30min mark I was feeling pretty good and decided to set myself up for a long run. It was kinda hot out and I could tell I wasn't as hydrated as I should be but I thought I'd be fine. At almost exactly the 1hr point my stomach just turned and I could tell the lack of hydration was getting to me. I was basically fine for the next 15min but then at about 1:15in I just started bonking. Every 4-5min I was dry heaving until finally at the 1:38mark I had to stop and I threw up a bunch of bile. It was nasty. Looked like lime gatorade. Ick. Felt super awful after that. Wanted to just stop and lay down or walk but I knew the only way I was getting home was by running. So I shuffled my awful-feeling self back home, downed a gatorade and took a freezing cold shower. I don't have a good explanation for why this run was so bad. I thought I did a good job rehydrating on Thursday after not doing a good job on Weds. I guess the mixture of Weds plus the fact that it was warm and I was in the sun for most of my route proved to be disastrous. Uck.
