First run back. Funny how an all out 42km race in minimalist shoes on pavement can really do your body in. You'd think you'd be able to shake something like that off in a day or two, but nope, a week later you're still achy.

Mentally I was really excited. I am looking forward to enjoying the rest of the fall and early winter with a relaxed attitude. I'll keep the mileage pretty conservative and throw in some anaerobic stuff as I feel.

Legs weren't as ready to be back as my mind was though. There was still a really deep ache in my legs, especially in my hips. About 5min in and my achilles flared back up as well. They had been pretty much rocked since Wednesday but have been fine since then, so I was a bit surprised that they were such an issue. Decided to not push through all of this and just called it a day after 2mi. I'll use this next week to build back into it and I wont be afraid to ice. I want to be especially careful with my achilles. There's a lot of time between now and the next time I want to be in good shape. No sense in hurrying back into it.
