55 at start, 57 at finish. Rain. Today's problem: how do I baby my hamstring without cutting back on days or mileage? Attempted solution: run same mileage, but slow. New problem: if I look at pace, I can't help myself from going too fast. New solution: set Garmin to HR screen, and use that self-competitiveness to keep below 150 bpm. Worked as far as keeping run slow--average was 14:14. Then I walked an additional mile or so, up to the beach at Tuira and back. At home, keeping compression tights on for additional half hour or so as sauna warms up.
We'll see if any of this helps the hammie heal.
