Notes

Okay, quite the eventful run! First of all, it was a gorgeous, sunny, warm 57 degree day, and I was trapped inside for most of it, lol. But I broke out and was able to squeeze in a run before the sun went down. Super nice out--I wore a tshirt and leggings! I felt pretty good right away (although I could sort of feel my lunch, lol). Once I got on the lakefront, I sort of got roped into the pace of everybody there--people were literally zooming, so I couldn't help but stick with their pace. Lol. I did have to take a quick break at the halfway point, but as soon as I started back up, I got a new burst of energy and I was going again. I saw Delaney as I closed in on 2 miles, so that was super fun lol. Then, CHAOS. I got off the path and headed back down Wellington, just minding my own business, really feeling my pace. All of a sudden, I see flashing lights further up the road. As I get close to the scene, I realize there's entire firetrucks in the road, ladders going up, yellow vests everywhere. Looked up to see a MASSIVE column of smoke rising out of a building. I had to switch to the other side of the road, then kinda walked through the crowd of onlookers. Paused at Broadway & Wellington to snap a quick pic, then just hauled it home. I was probably doing about 7:00 pace (my fastest moment was hitting 6:07) for the last 0.5, which was roughly like 3:20 based on lazy person math. I'd say that's pretty damn good. I still got that dawg in me.

Tomorrow I will likely not be able to run due to work + class. But hoping to be back at it Thursday.
