5 x 1200m @ 6:00 pace
Cold! First cold day in a long while. I broke out the hat and gloves. 8 mph to 13 mph wind by the end, not too bad.
I was worried this workout would be hard to grind out since the cold weather makes fast reps difficult, especially the first few.
I ran 3 strides and about a 1/5th mile at I pace to warm up and I felt ready.
The first rep (6:03) wasn't too bad, although not as easy as the first rep last week (6:10). The uphill/against the wind reps were considerably harder, but I was able to make up the time on the downhills to keep the average pace where I wanted it. I can tell my HRs are lower for this workout, but that's just the cold. My effort level was pretty maxed out.
