Notes

I ran pretty hard. It was a fairly boring route, since I did my short loop followed by my 6.6 mile loop, followed by the 6.6 mile loop again. I wanted to stop at home so that I could shed clothes as I went and so that I could take in some water and crank gel. I did the first 4.4 miles in 28:44 (6:32 pace), and the 6.6 loops in 43:28 (6:36 pace) and 43:37 (6:37 pace). An overall pace of 6:35 isn't too bad, considering that I was running alone. That pace could have gotten me a better marathon than all but NYC. I'll take it after having spent 6 or 7 hours this weekend shoveling snow, slush and ice. It was really windy, and it got quite a bit colder as I went. The footing was fine, though, so it was worth waiting for the roads to get cleared and melt off and even if it wasn't quite as warm. I'm looking forward to Boston; I think I'll be in good shape for another 10 minute PR.
