I didn't run. I spent an hour shoveling my driveway before the guy with a tractor and a snow thrower drove by and took pity on me (and figured that he had to clean up all the snow I was pushing into the road anyway so why not save everybody a bit of labor) and finished up for us.

The weather was absolutely horrid all day, with the snow turning to sleet and freezing rain and coating everything in ice. When I came home, I got to listen to my otherwise healthy trees let go of their nice thick branches and send them tumbling to the ground (seriously, a 4 inch diameter branch on a perfectly healthy tree came right down.) Between the ones that landed on the roof and shook the house, and the snow sliding off the roof and projecting a good 4 feet straight out and hitting other branches which then came over to bang into the house (next to our picture window but thankfully not through it) it made for an interesting night.

We had no power, and my wife had to try to study by candle light. There was still a lot of morons out driving and I had no desire to contend with them so I stayed inside and went to bed at 8:00.

My shoulder was still really painful.
