Long Run/ Workout - 3 easy, 3 Steady, 2 easy, 2 Tempo, 1 easy, 1 at 5k effort, 3 easy.
Broke out the super shoes because I haven't raced more than an 8K in the Alpha's and wanted to see how they'd feel during the later miles of a half. Really happy with this workout. Steady was suppose to be between 6:20-6:30. I was a little quick but the effort felt good. Tempo miles were the highlight of the workout for me. First mile was pretty smooth sailing. It got tougher during mile 2 and I had to grit out the last half mile. Feels really good to negative split those miles. The last hard mile at 5k effort was rough. I died a bit but it was mile 12 and the focus was more on effort anyway so it's all good.
Great day - hit the hard miles hard and still managed 7:15ish pace for all the easy running between the hard miles.
