Notes

2 miles warm-up, 5 miles at 6:20-6:15, 2 miles cooldown

Ran the warmup around the Lee Victory loop with a couple strides in the second mile then stopped to do drills and drink some water before starting the tempo; for some reason I was a little nervous going into this workout about keeping this fast of a pace for 5 consecutive miles but thankfully didn't end up being too hard; the first few miles of the tempo clipped off with relative ease feeling smooth; the last 1.5 miles or so took a little more focus but finished still feeling strong but also happy to be done; when I saw the 6:13 4th mile I made sure to not push too much the last mile and just stayed in the pace zone for the final mile (6:16 overall pace for the tempo); definitely a solid tempo today, it is awesome to know I can feel in control at a pace that fast; finished up with a cooldown back to the town center, it felt like I was going really slow but I guess my legs were still acclimated to the tempo pace...
