Great run with Karl and Aubs. First time doing this race, so started very easily. Had plenty of people pushing past us for the first few kms, which we happily let them do, knowing we'd reel them all in over the second half. Race panned out exactly like that - the route was super hilly, and started passing plenty of people on the hills up to the block house and then after the turn back towards the start. Saw the Bishops crowd on one of the big hills above the start at about the 16km mark, so left Karl and Aubs to pass them. Didn't slow down and powered the last few kms, overtaking quite a few people, including the eventual ladies race winner. Finished just behind William van Dugteren. Muscles a little sore after, but recovered nicely.
