Good, hard run in cold, wet and very windy conditions. Started with Paul but soon dropped him. Ran the rest of the first half (in to the wind) with Erin and the eventual 4th placed lady. Felt very comfortable at this pace for the first half. At 11km decided to push for a sub 40min 10km home. Managed 39:23 (3:56/km) and this also felt pretty comfortable, but interestingly couldn't accelerate to a faster pace - tried to, but legs just wouldn't turn over faster. Odd, as really did feel pretty comfortable at that pace. Slightly faster last km to finish. Recovered afterwards very well.
