Went out from the start gunning for a sub 83min (and PB), and held the pace all the way until the last couple of kms, when the wheels came off - I ended up trundling in at what felt like 5min/km! Ran with or just behind Pierre until the 18th km (then he dropped me). Greg was also with me or 15m in front of me until the bottom of Adderley on the way down. Blistered under my left big toe at about 10km - bloody sore for the rest of the run. Altogether, not totally unhappy with the run, but disappointed I couldn't keep the pace. More work needed!
(PB on a flat course - only faster time is Knysna this year).
