This was the first leg of my BRICK workout for the day. This is a course I have done A LOT. I wanted to keep to a familiar route for the brick. I wanted this to be fast, so I worked it pretty hard. The weather was perfect too, hot and windy. I wasn't too concerned about the wind, which is kind of unusual, since wind is my nemesis. I am getting used to the fact that the aero-bars make riding in the wind SO much easier. I tried my best to stay in the aero position for as much as possible on this ride. I am sure that it helped. It felt good. I still think I need to ride a lot more than I am. A great ride. It ended up being just about as fast as I wanted it to be.
Transition went REALLY SMOOTH today. Simple preparations, simple execution. No delays. It almost felt TOO easy. The split time of 27.5 seconds might be a little misleading, since I am not sure when to start the transition split. Today, the transition was feet on the ground off the bike to start and ended with me leaving the driveway and onto the road running. I think that's fair. (And FAST, compared to my usual! Yeah!)
