MAKE UP RACE AFTER LATEST MKE MARATHON DELAY/CANCELLATION
Not a bad result off of lots of disappointment, mediocre training, and no goal. Basic, no frills event, course was an out and back on a rec. trail. Crushed limestone for miles 11-16. Before the race my only thoughts were 'have fun' and 'BQ'
Anyway: 3 minute negative split. BQ (-)5min. 2 bathroom breaks during first half (I'll blame that on the temps in the mid 30's). Also walked every time I took water as I seemed to forget how to run and drink at the same time. felt like I would die from a coughing fit while choking after the first table. lol
Two years since the last marathon, felt good to experience the last miles of a hard run marathon again - there's nothing quite like it. Miles 24,25,26,&26.2 were the four fastest splits of the race! I suppose that means I left a little time out on the course.
Almost 10 minutes slower than NYC... sigh...
