Notes
13.34 miles on the GPS. Forgot to bring the heart rate monitor, so didn't get any heart rates.
Didn't see mile marker 12, so miles 12 & 13 are together.
My plan going in was to run modestly the first 8 miles and then have a nice tempo run the last 5.1. It really feels good to be able to come up with a strategy 3 weeks in a row (Purity, Derby, CMM) and execute it almost exactly like planned.
Eight straight negative split races!
I targeted an 8:45 pace to start out, which I should be able to maintain on the hills.
Miles 5 and 6 had a lot of downhill, so I let it dip lower on those miles. Although I hadn't intended to start the tempo run until I reached mile marker 8, my body just naturally started moving faster on the 8th mile so I ended up with a 6.1 mile tempo run to finish it.
Once the tempo run started, I started passing tons of people.
Even though it was a training run, two months ago this would have been nearly a 4 minute PR.
