Notes

It was 57 degrees at the start, around 64 when I finished.

Continued to feel the left hamstring each time the left foot hit the ground, but after around 10 miles it went away except for on a couple hills. Decided to just run through the discomfort and go for a good run.

I was determined all week to re-challenge this tough course from last week.

Felt I had a good pace the entire way, the slower miles being the ones with the uphill climb.

Felt much stronger this week in Shelby's bottom and was able to put some fast miles in from miles 17-20 before hitting the climb up to the pedestrian bridge on mile 21.

Because I wore my water belt, I was able to go to Percy Priest dam and back (15.5 miles) without any stop. Had to refill the water before heading down to Shelby Bottoms.

If you divide mile 11 between the first/second half of the runs, the split is:

1st 10.5 miles = 1:31:52

2nd 10.5 miles = 1:29.49 (had both of the tough hills to climb at mile 14 & 21)

I still had a lot left in the tank at the end and felt on level surface could have kept maintaining sub 8:30.
