Tired of hearing "Tactical Race" during the Oly Trials (Read 101 times)

Hey, does anyone think they'll run faster than 2:05 for the first 800m in tonight's "tactical" 1500?

Nuguse may take them through in 1:58-1:59.

Agreed. Hard to see the young guys going tactical as they can watch Centro and Engles just squeeze down in the semis. If they want to make the team. Going hard from the gun is the way to do it.

Last night's session was one of the best track and field meets I've watched. Great racing (and jumping) in every event. Very enjoyable!

3:35's won't get them medals in the Olympics, but maybe that was affected by the still-hot temps. Hope Cole Hocker does get in (through the points/ranking system).
ETA:Apparently he does have a World Athletics ranking high enough to get him in.

3:35 is absolutely fast enough to win a medal if the final 200 is 22-4 seconds. Times are meaningless in 800-5k in Olympics. If they start slow even 200 the final time is "slow"
