Piwi - It has to be hosted on the internet. I'm really not sure how to post own photos.

When I created the thread I tried to add an image from Imgur and it didn't work.

Watson - Good to see you're getting some running in at least.

After a couple of weeks of easy running I raced a 5k last weekend, kind of last minute, and I didn't feel like preparing for it much the day before, so I ate a pretty hefty dinner with tritip and several glasses of wine. Ran a disappointing 20:55, with a santa hat on my head that probably improved my aerodynamics. Opened as planned at 6:35 pace, found a back to hang on for the next mile but forgot to check the pace and was shocked to see I was running 6:50 pace halfway through the second mile. Didn't feel very peppy so I hung on and more or less kept 6:45 pace the rest of the way. Oh well. Like last year I signed up for the marcothon challenge, meaning I will run at least 3 miles every day in December. At least that will get my miles up a little bit. I will probably target the Oakland Half Marathon on March 25 as my next target race, and I will probably try to keep my mileage up next year. Don't know what program to use but maybe I should check out Jack Daniels.

Rune - 3 miles a day keeps the doctor away

Mark - Good luck this weekend, we all know you're going to run 1h15, no pressure

Piwi - Around here there's a cable channel called Off. It's readily available in pubs, bars and the like and it shows non stop people surfing, kayaking, hiking mountains, that kind of stuff. From my point of view you live inside that channel.

me - Any more candidates to be king of the thread next year?

Flavio - thanks.  Weather forecast looks fairly warm and potentially humid, we are having a very warm start to our summer, so I might have to adjust my expectations, I am not great in the heat although I have had a bit of practice over the last week or so.  If the forecast is right then using JMac's TDP reference chart (at least, I think it was JMac that referenced this), that would equate to a 1-2% pace adjustment.

Last year I did 1:20:41 and finished 3rd.  The placing really depends who shows up (I expect the two guys who beat me last year to be there!), but I'd quite like to beat my time.  It's a flat course but not especially quick due to some of the terrain.  Under optimal weather conditions I daresay I would be close to PR but I think it's gonna be too warm for that!

Mark it sure is a cracker start to summer but not the best running conditions. Good thinking on pace adjustment. Have a great race.

Rune i would like to see some photos of you in the santa hat but it seems too hard to get pics on here. Good effort on that 5k.

I tried to link to my google photos gallery but maybe I have to change the properties of the photo to make it visible to people other than me. I guess choosing to not host photos here saves a lot of bandwidth.
