Prince of Fatness
We actually thought this one had a deeper flavor but was less hoppy. Also a bit less carbonation in this bottle, even though I could see a tad more yeast on the bottom. The flavor was very good, but survey says that 31 edged it out overall.
That's interesting. It's almost as though you describe these the opposite of what they are. I am sure that I labelled them correctly though.
31 being a bitter should have been less carbed and less hoppy, at least from a flavor and aroma standpoint. Both should have hop bitterness. I added a whole ounce of Amarillo hops to 32 when I turned off the burner so you should have noticed an aroma from them. Those two batches were bottled March / April so some of the hop character has faded. I don't have any left to see for myself.
No worries though, as you liked them both.
Not at it at all.
Speaking of bitter, I had this one yesterday, gift from the beer fairy. Nice.
La Follie is fairly spectacular stuff.
Memory was refreshed Saturday. Yeah, this is good. I think that I like the sours from Russian River better, but this is good.
Good Bad & The Monkey
Well, Russian River sours are considered the best there are in terms of American Wild Ales. So yeah, they are objectively better.
But La Follie, dang good.
I'm running somewhere tomorrow. It's going to be beautiful. I can't wait.
Poor baby
This was a 2011 bottle. I have one more left, and suppose I should seek out a 2012 bottle when I travel down south this fall.

Perhaps the deeper overall flavor of 32 covered up some of the hops for me? My nose is bad, dude. Don't trust me to smell anything. 31 was definitely more carbonated....unless you've noticed otherwise my experience home-bottling stuff is that some variation in carbonation within the same batch is normal...one could have been more than intended and the other less? FWIW I expected a bit more carb than was I saw in 32.
Yup, both good though. I finished off a couple craft brews last night and yours were better than either of them.

All of that beer that you have laying around and you pick Corona Light for number 500?
Exactly.
Beer is evil until Monkey - Sometimes I am weak and partake in evil.
Long dead ... But my stench lingers !
surley:
yes.
surley: yes.
Can't get it here but the beer fairy came through. Haven't had a bad one from them yet, and there are several more cans in my basement waiting for me to try.
Surly is good.
But it ain't no Corona Light.

Nothing is....nothing is.
Keeping this in the beer thread just so DB doesn't have to read about evil beer if he doesn't want to.
$5 growler night.
I had two. And a half.
Got down there and it was busy. Went with a neighbor. First pour was Stone 16th Anniversary. I liked it. Definitely hints of lemon in there. It's hard to have just one beer so we decided to have one more. Troegs Dead Reckoning Porter. Yummy.
Then there was the half price table. I printed the coupon from FB. My neighbor and I went in on a six pack of Founders Centennial IPA and a four pack of Green Flash Le Freak. I got 5 units for 7 bucks. Also picked up some Sixpoint Brownstone. One goes in a box. And a bomber of Ballast Point Sculpin IPA also goes in the box.
And the $5 growler was Founders Dirty Bastard.
Dropped my neighbor off and he wanted to have one more beer. I didn't. So we split the difference and split a can of Sixpoint Resin. Damn.
