For races, but for short runs I go with SS. One time I wore a LS and it was 38F and it was OK but it was only 4 miles. Anything longer it would just bake me up, especially if it's sunny.
But yes, shorts through the 30s.

Lots of options, including racing the first 3 miles at 5k pace to stay near the elites, then dropping out.
