ill have to look into the maurten gels, I like the idea of not absolutely needing water. In a race I always take them with water but on training runs it can be a pain in the butt to find water, especially in the winter
I ran 8, it was another dog, making it 3 such runs in a row (triple dog dare ya?).
The first 3 miles were without GPS, the resulting track on the map looks like a drunk was running.

Went ahead and took Dorian in the stroller and Jetta, got 4 miles in.
Now I don't have to get in 10 miles tomorrow if i don't want to deal with the possible rain, i only have to do 6. We shall see.

10 miles with some progression. Was supposed to run with RP but he was feeling feverish. Unrelated but he got bit by a dog a few weeks ago while running. It was on a leash and chomped him on the calf a few times. I guess it was a bloody mess. Now he understands why I cross the street every time I see a dog coming. Rain (and thunder) I don't mind, rain with 15 mph winds causing those drops to pelt me in the face and eyes......no thank you.
I don't take Gu on a training run. This whole training cycle I did one time (the big 22 mile workout) and we had Mr O be our mobile aid station, driving to 2 different spots to give us water. Other than that one, every run has been without water or gels.
