I use it for Chrome. Works perfect.

Ditto.
Clean slate? So did they shitcan the old mods/admins who basically "thumbed their collective noses" at the community for so long? It was only until after a mass exodus occurred that they finally did something and even then took their sweet time? Sorry...any community where the mod/admin staff refuses to reply to requests/concerns by the members in an expedient manner is not a community I want to be part of. I ran a site for years and I actively engaged the members with questions as to how I could improve the site all the time.

Per Knabe S*S and himself will be the primary form of moderation, so no. I was part of the BETA test group for the site and real moderation was just another of the suggestions that seemingly went ignored.

Mostly harmless
I like it. As far as ads I use addblock over there and here. So there is no adds.
I just pay for a membership to Running Ahead. It's only $20 bucks a year which is a bargain for the use of the training log alone, much less everything else. It helps keep this site up and running and as a thank you, Eric turns off the ads for paid members.

Same here. I might add that Eric is very responsive and seems to be genuinely interested in maintaining a good site. Having been a site admin/founder, I give much respect to folks like him. Kudos to Eric and I'm glad I found this place.
I paid for the membership too.
so all the old threads are orphaned? Is that what they did? Because you can still find the old threads and posts through google.

I still have a link to the old L&O forum. It still works. The posts are still around. Is the link on the main page fixed? It took me to the old forum.
runnersworld.com>community>forums takes you here http://community.runnersworld.com/forums
didn't read the threads above maybe someone else explained this?
The old forums are still around. You can reply to threads but not start a new one is the way I understand it. This will give people a chance to finish off conversations and save off any last minute info before they shut it down for good on the 22nd.

They ignored suggestions? I would never have guessed that...

I don't think there is an AdBlock add-on for IE10. You don't really need it. Just surf any site where you don't want to see ads inPrivate Browsing mode (aka: porn mode). It blocks the ads.
I normally don't use IE but was having temporary issues with Flash clogging up Firefox.
Barking Mad To Run
I guess I will not be able to post my ton of photos over there now for my race reports, huh?

+1.
I left RWOL and won't ever go back. I waited months for the 'improvements' but now I have left and will never go back.
Ands WHY ever go back?! RA kicks RWOL's A$$! (And the graphs + charting of stats here are SUPERB).
I too sent Eric $20.00, 10.00 for the year membership and another10 'just because this site rocks'. I would never pay to be an RWOL member.

I need a place which is alive with constant new threads and has enough participants to keep things moving. A place which can give enough answers/replies to all. I also want the right mix of topics, which to me is somewhere around 75% running and 25% other. I also want a forum which functions well. I waste enough time already as it is, I don't want to waste more because a forum platform isn't working as it should. And finally, I would prefer to stay with the people with whom I have formed bonds. The rest doesn't matter to me. I don't care who the mods are.
