     But is it worth it?

It is a prize, so yes.

I would've smacked the person who handed me that goofy ass looking hat.

Put a gold star on the brim and you're all set!  But I've never run in anything like those conditions, so I'm in no position to judge.

Years down the line, you will look back fondly on your ability and drive to compete in those conditions that few others would.

Here in North Texas we have had almost two weeks of unseasonably mild temps.  34-45 in the AM warming to 65-70 in the PM.

Not to rub it in you all running in the   negatives.

5 miles. 46 degrees, since it seems that's what people are talking about.

Yes. That's just stupid cold. I will if you will.

Now I'm thinking I should just do it... Does this still hold?

Oh, lookit that... it will feel like -20° on Sunday morning.  15 MPH wind.  I don't own enough layers to keep me warm in that.

But I'm too busy worrying about my leg to care that I am going to die of hypothermia during a race.

Geezus! Maybe a one-piece snowmobile suit is what we all need!

                        Good morning!

I ran 13.7 with 7 @ MP.  It was a balmy 24 at the start, and the roads are nearly ice/snow free.  I'll take it and not bitch.

I hope everyone has a great day!

                          Hey everyone!!

13 miles this morning, not as cold as what y'all are talking about, tolerable at 25*.  Ran a couple loops through downtown, cool seeing it completely deserted.  Big fountain in front of a hotel was frozen solid, pretty neat.

                          Stay warm folks!!

one thing for sure that I've learned all these years running and reading these forums...you can never do anything about the weather on race day...I've basically given up...and I don't live with those freezing a** temps that you guys do.

the LA marathon and Olympic trials are this weekend. They must have thought by doing the race in February they could fool the weather gods - but no, that aint happening. I guess the highs will be in the 80's for a marathon. I know it won't be that hot at the start but it will still suck the life out of most runners as the day wears on. glad I'm not running it. for that and other reasons.

5 miles this morning and coffee and donut now.

Flu sucks. I've been able to run through whatever the hell it was I had (although I couldn't do much else). Still can't taste shit though.
