Does that mean other days you do?
LOL
My coach doesn't list what type of pace it is (i.e. 10k pace), but it was 8:00 pace (which I just couldn't achieve), and I think that's just a bit faster than 10k pace, so more of a LT/cruise interval run.
14 miles with 4x2 miles at faster than 10k pace?? Holy shit
I did this workout last weekend but the sets were MP, MP, HMP, MP.
8 miles at 10k pace? Uh, no way.
Unless coach doesn't believe 8:00 pace is faster than 10K pace. Otherwise, ... Just doesn't make sense.
I did have 3 min jog recoveries between sets, but I was still toast. So f’ing hard.
it totally is faster unless he knows something I don’t know.
For mcmillans training charts my paces fall into the cruise interval category, but 4x2mi felt like a lot.

Two miles is a long ass workout, heading to tempo length, IMO.

I can barely do 2 miles at 10K pace half the time.
i ran 5. It was cool, it felt great. Chicago participant guide came today

I just checked the MacMillan Calculator, and and the 10K-slightly faster pace, in cruise intervals, is for 1000m intervals. Since I just raced a 10K, I now know what my 10k pace is

Shit's gettin' real!

So what does a good race like that do? It makes you play with the race time calculators! Turns out this is my best race time, any distance, and that my other PRs are a little soft. And it gives you confidence that you might actually have a nice marathon time in 4 weeks, with a proper taper, and all.
JHC that's a 3:02 marathon.
