Thanks, Leslie! Gotta dig out my calendar and figure out the next couple of weeks. Need to decide if this is my "peak week" before taper, or step back and peak next week. Decisions, decisions...

Monday: 30 minutes (3.73 miles) elliptical, .5 mile walk around the track

Tuesday: 5.21 miles on the treadmill, .33 mile walk; I can tell I need to get back in "treadmill shape"

Wednesday: 10.5 miles, 8:33 avg pace, some on the snow/ice, mostly dry bikepath, .32 mile walk

Thursday: 5.3 miles, snowy trail run, .4 mile walk

Friday: 4.2 miles mostly easy effort, some hills, .4 mile walk

Saturday: 10.5 miles @ 8:17... same route and same pace as last Saturday, how cool is that? .3 mile walk c/d

Sunday: 17 miles @ 8:15 avg pace. If I'm going to get thru 20 next week, I need to slow it down!

Totals: 52.8 miles run, 2.3 miles walked, 30 min. elliptical (3.73 miles)

Thanks, Leslie! Gotta dig out my calendar and figure out the next couple of weeks.

And while you're doing that, why don't figure it out for me as well! Hmm, maybe I just need a coach or someone to tell me what do to, what race to pick....

Thanks Leslie. Plan this week is pretty much the same as it's been for the last number of weeks. Though, I am going to try to make it to the Tuesday night track workout with the local masters group, since I feel I might be ready to add something new to the mix. Hopefully my hamstring will be amenable to that....

not too shabby, considering how the week started....

OM - Is your hamstring tight? Painful?  Are your quads overdeveloped and pulling on the hamstrings?  This happened to me, causing my  hammies to be extremely irritable.  Wall stretching and incorporating hamstring strengthening (i.e. bridges) made a huge difference.

Leslie, thanks for asking. I've had this middle-of-the-muscle tightness for a while now, comes and goes, sometimes exhibits along the ITB, other times it's outer part of the quad. I've been negligent with my foam roller, I know that. It's more an inner thigh weakness than hamstring, I think, which is why the outer muscles of the leg are bearing the brunt of the discomfort. I've been lax with my own yoga practice, quite frankly. Haven't done a warrior in weeks. It's time.
