Ocean Drive 10 Miler RR (Read 230 times)

Marathon Maniac #957

Cold and wind - yuch, but at least with sunshine, and it's great when you realize that you really did dress just right for a race. Great race and report!

Life is a headlong rush into the unknown. We can hunker down and hope nothing hits us or we can stand tall, lean into the wind and say, "Bring it on, darlin', and don't be stingy with the jalapenos."

Great job, even with the cold and wind (ugh!). And the party afterwards sounds good, too. You sure it wasn't a little more for the adults than the kiddos?? Wink

nono, I loved your report. I'm glad it was a good day for you. You certainly earned it and deserved it with all the juggling you do with your time to get your runs in. What a rush to run through your hometown, and to WOW your neighbors like that! It was quite chilly that day, not ideal for racing, but you managed very well. Then it was back to being mom again right after with the kiddie's party! If you are ever looking for a nice challenge in the fall some year, Long Beach Island has an 18 miler point to point race in October that is very nice, you finish up at the base of the Barnegat Lighthouse. No promises though about the wind conditions for that. Congratulations!
