WOW! I had no idea (or completely forgot) that my BQ qualifying time is based on the age I would be at the Boston marathon I would be running, not the current year. That is so kewl to know! Thanks, Erika!

Life is a headlong rush into the unknown. We can hunker down and hope nothing hits us or we can stand tall, lean into the wind and say, "Bring it on, darlin', and don't be stingy with the jalapenos."

Geez, I forgot to check what my new BQ is with my (cough cough) new (cough) age group...3:25:59 - 8:15 ave pace...last year is was 8:01 ave pace. Guess getting older has it's advantages, huh Smile Then who's cruel idea was it to send me a freaking..............AARP card...I didn't ask for no freaking AARP card...sorry SOB's Big grin TimBo

Running has given me the courage to start, the determination to keep trying, and the childlike spirit to have fun along the way - Run often and run long, but never outrun your Joy of running!

Tim I think you must mean 3:35:59, right? So we're in the same AG? You and mainerunnah are going to kick my butt Wink Holly I had missed a few posts earlier -- that picture of your daughter is priceless. And all the cousins in the backyard by SH was also a great one.

my heart is heavy today too -- thinking of Tom and last night at work helped a woman deliver her baby too early too survive - so difficult makes my heel pain seem insignificant but have to admit - that's bothering me immensely too -- i cant believe I was feeling great and running strong for me after my surgery and all it takes is a new pair of sneakers to derail my progress!! my heels/feet hurt so bad I know i need to take a few days off and let them recoverSad congratulations to all of who have quit smoking - i can only imagine how difficult it must be Holly - you are going to rock your marathon and I hope the next time you come to Boston I get to spend more time with you!! great pic of your DD!!

              Running out of mistakes!

I've been traveling, most of this week and just got back. I was very saddened to hear Tom's sad news. Mary, congrats to your hubby on his break with the cigs! No run yet...hopefully shortly though. The local paper did a write up on running for Boston. They put in a picture of us at the start in Hopkinton. You can also see the Hopkinton common and the gazebo that won't be done for this year's marathon. The picture was taken at the start of last Sunday's long run in a rain and wind-fest/deathmarch. http://www.metrowestdailynews.com/news/x1764849231/Marathon-practice-makes-perfect-for-Hopkinton-Running-Club
-2009 running goals - sub-3 after Boston (probably VCM), 3 PRs, 2009 miles for the year, and no untreated injuries

Just finished cleaning up. Now we let the yeast do what yeast do (eat sugars, burp CO2 and pee ethanol), and the final product will be ready in 4-5 weeks (actually 6-7 would be better for this lager, but I might want to rush it a bit Smile)

                    Renee the dog

3 mi walk with Renee. Terrible weather all day gave way to sudden sun and dry streets. Whole world was out. Lots of doggy socializing. Smile

lucky lunch today at local Chinese restaurant with dive'n'arf as the long-lost sunshine was starting to burst open long-overdue cherry blossoms. Hope it’s as nice for your run down the Yakima River Canyon tomorrow too, and that the dimsum and crispy-fried pepper shrimp heads at lunch today help too. Big grin thanks for stopping by, . . . we'll be hopin' and hopin' dive can get you down here after all for the Seattle RnR. ps holly - don't be nervous, . . . it's just a marathon.Smile

thanks Holly - you are so right .............. i am privileged to share in many beautiful moments both in joy and sadness 35 minutes on the spin bike tonight, dripping with sweat helped set my mind right some followed it with some good core work and stretching i think my heel/foot pain might be a slight PF acting up so i rolled my feet on the ice bottle and feeling ok now after spinning .... hope it doesn't get worse
