Marathon Maniac #957
For those of you who are new, this is the 40/40 thread, for people who are over 40 years old who run 40 miles/week or more. We give Free Passes to those who come really close or try really hard...
This is what I have for last week’s tally - sorry I took so long. We have some missing people, so if you let me know, I'll tuck you in the right place.

Life is a headlong rush into the unknown. We can hunker down and hope nothing hits us or we can stand tall, lean into the wind and say, "Bring it on, darlin', and don't be stingy with the jalapenos."
Just a dude.
Thanks again Holly...
Not sure how this week will go... I am quite frustrated with my lower legs. I've never heard of any kind of issue like I have... My ankles and calf muscles are hurting when I walk, climb stairs, or run. Sitting or standing is fine. Sometimes when I walk or run it loosens up and gets better... sometimes it doesn't. Advil seems to really help... Icing doesn't... Can't tell if massaging is helping or not.
This morning I went out for 3... I turned around and walked home before I got a quarter of a mile.
I took about half a week off 2 weeks ago with this same problem... Things felt great during my Race the 9th, but even on the cool down things started to hurt again... Ran through it but it got worse... Cut a 6 mile run short, but then the next morning felt ok enough to run 17... Then yesterday I took the day off I was so sore...
Sorry... I think I'm rambling...
/sigh
My plan:
?
More than 0?
Less than 80?
Ugh... 1.9 miles... that's it... /sigh
Got my blood test results back... Everything looks good to great. Only nit picky thing the doc had was my cholesterol was 201 (instead of under 200)...
I think I am finally starting to feel better tho...

Getting back in shape... Just need it to be a skinnier shape...

W/D | Could not get relaxed on the treadmill today - the fire
crew at work rearranged the PT room and left only 3 inches
from the wall to behind the treadmill which I think is very
dangerous. I just felt cramped and could not relax my
shoulders. Did the best to salvage the work out. Ended
up doing only 5 reps (paces/mile for 1200m: 6:43, 6:56, 6:57,

Dare I post in here again? It really hasn't been that much of a struggle for me to make 40 mpw these last couple months, but I still worry. Though now that took those couple days off last week and my long run got shifted to the weekend, I think I'm on a better schedule. Still a bit of a struggle to figure out when to go to yoga class and when to take days off. For the former, once I've run, I'm not in the mood to get sweaty again, so I've been bagging class in the evenings. For the latter, I just don't want to skip running!
It's a sketchy plan, given that it's already Wednesday, but I really have trouble deciding ahead of time what I'm going to feel up to doing. At least I know I have that long run on Sunday. Thanks for bearing with me, Holly, and the rest of the regular crew here.
who says life doesn't have a soundtrack?
JDmom - welcome back!
KellyDodge - bummer, and I hope that eases up for you with some rest.
DfromBG - I feel your pain.
Sorry I'm taking so long with the tally this week. Took two afternoons off to spend time with the kids on thier break, and got way behind at work. Tomorrow, I promise....
