    For those of you who are new, this is the 40/40 thread, for people who are over 40 years old who run or aspire to run 40 miles/week. We give Free Passes to those who come really close or try really hard... Here’s what I have for last week’s tally. Let me know if I missed you.

                Lucky you Holly! This is a cutback week for me: Monday - 5 easy (40:30) Tuesday - 8 miles w/some fartlek (1:00:30) Wednesday - 6 miles easy TM/ weights (48:24) Thursday - 12 miles (1:33:56) Friday - 8 miles (1:04:33) / weights Saturday - 11 (1:26:30) Sunday - off Total: 50

                    Last week I did some crazy mileage and broke 60 mpw for the first time ever Big grin I plan to head up north to visit the DW and kids. I tend to miss runs when I am back at home. But I'll put my planned week in any how. Monday....umm...rest...run..rest... run...will flip a coin when I get to the gym (no run 5mi spin on bike) Tues - 6 miles smooth as a Bill Clinton Apology. (3 in the morning and 6 evening= 9) Wed- 11 miles (some tempo) Thursday 6 (maybe) traveling this day Friday: 11 Sat 4-5 Sunday. ?? This differs from my marathon training plan, less miles, but more realistic.

                              thanks mucho Holly 12 weeks till Eugene Marathon Mon: rest - no running, only biking Tues: 5 miles - 5.0 miles (8:34 pace) Ave HR 127, Max HR 140. Wed: 7 miles - 8.0 miles (8:22 pace) Ave HR 128, Max HR 141. Thurs: 10 miles - 11.0 miles (8:03 pace) Ave HR 132, Max 149. Fri: 11 miles - 13.0 miles (7:54 pace) Ave HR 135, Max HR 145, including 4 miles @ MP. Sat: 6 miles - 7.0 miles (8:39 pace) Ave HR 125, Max HR 136 Sun: 14 miles - 16.1 miles (7:56 pace) Ave HR 151, Max HR 169. Not as hilly a route today as my normal. 800 ft up and down, one long hill and lots of rollers. Ran the hills hard. Total: 60.1 miles

                                Holly - I try to do those between 5 & 10K race pace - usually starting at the slower end and trying to end up on the faster end....not always an easy thing to do nor is it always successful! Wink
