Drove to Yosemite for a backpacking trip. Up Yosemite Falls trail to the Falls then over to Eagle Peak where we camped. This was supposed to be a R&R day but turned out to be HARD. YF trail is difficult even without a 50lb pack but with the pack it was very tough. Then at the top of the falls snowshoes became mandatory. Packed another 3 miles to Eagle Peak over several feet of snow, dirt no where. Camped on the snow. But it was all worthwhile at Eagle Peak. Beautiful views of the valley halfdome and other peaks. Close to full moon so pretty cool. Actually very cold that night and the next morning.
