Notes
Not bad at all. Had THE perfect weather day to run - low 40's, no wind and little exposure to the sun. Set the stage for my fastest Humboldt in 3 tries. Pretty happy even though I didn't get under 1:24.
The early miles I felt very strong and even in the last miles it wasn't too bad at all. I can't wait to get more of those 1600's and 3200's (especially the 3200's) in the bank. I think those are making a difference. Probably picked up a couple spots in the long GP as D Steedman and J Teeters weren't there. Davis ran 1:20:30 or so - no denying it, the guy is good. The only other WVJS'rs there were older runners, Hurtado, Norlander, Dodson (also Kat Powell made the trip and ran). Bob Anderson ran 1:32:39 but got beat by J Hirschberger (1:28:34). You woulda had your hands full taking 65-69 as the winner ran 1:39:18 chip.
Sidenote: I saw the #1 marathoner turn left at the finish (to go out his second 13.1 mile leg) so he ran about 1:23:30 for his 1st half but then I noticed the #1 marathon finisher ran 3:07:24. If that was him he died a thousand deaths on that return leg! I remember thinking as I saw him turn for the marathon "There is no way I could even contemplate another 13 miles ... I'd just stop and curl into a ball".
Couldn't believe how high my weight this morning. I brought my bathroom scale with me to make sure I got up-to-the-minute weight.
